15.03. Internationaler Tag gegen Polizeigewalt: Vortrag I der Prozess um den Tod von Mouhamed L. Dramé

Am 08. August wurde Mouhamed Lamine Dramé in einem Polizeieinsatz mit 11 beteiligten Beamt*innen in der Dortmunder Nordstadt getötet. Dabei war allen Beteiligten bekannt, dass sich Mouhamed in einer suizidalen Krise befand.
Nach über einem Jahr Prozess wurden alle fünf Hauptangeklagten im Dezember 2024 freigesprochen. Der vorsitzende Richter bekräftigte dabei rassistische Stereotype und die Weisungsbefugnis der Polizei für Menschen in suizidalen Krisen. Einmal mehr wird dabei die enge Verflechtung zwischen Polizei- und Justizgewalt deutlich.

In dem Vortrag soll es nicht nur ein weiteres Mal um die genannte Verflechtung gehen, welche die gesellschaftliche Grundlage für rassistische Polizeigewalt liefert, sondern insbesondere um die aus dem Gerichtsaal ausgeschlossenen Perspektiven.
Die Perspektiven der Zivilgesellschaft sowie eine einführende psychologische Einordnung der Wirkfaktoren und Folgen rassistischer Polizeigewalt.

Die Referentin ist Psychologin, hat über mehrere Jahre Betroffene von rassistischer Polizeigewalt beraten und den Prozess am Dortmunder Landgericht an vielen Tagen begleitet.

INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY: talk about the case concerning the death of mouhamed l. dramé

On 8 August, Mouhamed Lamine Dramé was killed in a police operation involving 11 officers in Dortmund's Nordstadt district. All those involved were aware that Mouhamed was in a suicidal crisis.
After more than a year of trial, all five main defendants were acquitted in December 2024. The presiding judge reaffirmed racist stereotypes and the authority of the police to issue instructions to people in suicidal crises. Once again, the close interdependence between police and judicial power becomes clear.

The talk will not only focus once again on the aforementioned interdependence, which provides the social basis for racist police violence, but in particular on the perspectives excluded from the courtroom.
The perspectives of civil society as well as an introductory psychological categorisation of the impact factors and consequences of racist police violence.

The speaker is a psychologist who has spent several years counselling victims of racist police & police violence for several years and accompanied the trial at Dortmund District Court on many days.
